The Contented Cottage B&B is truly a special and beautiful bed and breakfast. The amount of little details and thoughtful work all over the entire home and room makes the Contented Cottage a cozy and luxurious stay. A very rare find. We spent our wedding night, and partial honeymoon here, and we felt like we were in heaven. Look at the breakfasts! We felt like we were in a 5 star restaurant. The hosts are sweet, and caring, and truly pour their hearts into the B&B. Can’t recommend enough!
The innkeepers, Lisa and Steve, are the most wonderful people, and they do everything to make sure each guest's stay is special and delightful. Steve is a gifted chef and the breakfasts are divine! The rooms are well-appointed, cozy, and super comfortable with all of Lisa's special touches. There is no better place to stay than Contented Cottage B&B in Northfield, MN.
What a great find! Contented Cottage is a warm, cozy, comfortable home with all the right touches. Breakfast was delicious and abundant! We wished we had stayed longer so we had time to enjoy all of the places to sit and relax. Would definitely visit again!

My daughter and I stayed in Olivia's room while visiting Carleton. Lisa and Steve were gracious hosts. The breakfasts were varied and delicious. I definitely didn't leave hungry! They even brought out their super cute little dog to help my daughter feel more at home. I will definitely stay here again if we get the chance.

We enjoyed every beautiful, thoughtful aspect of our visit- from the yard chickens, bee hive (bought hand made soap and honey), to the sweet cottage-like inn, with comfy beds and magnificent breakfast. ❤ We'll definitely be back! Hosts were gracious and friendly, but gave us our space. It was perfect! Gave a 4 on location because of the busy road out front- Grounds near the Inn were gorgeous! (See pictures).
The breakfasts are incredible!! And that's half of what a B & B is! If that's important to you go there! They leave bars or cookies in the room and fresh water! Above and beyond! Nice treat. Lovely couple very lovely B & B ..beautiful surrounding! Downtown Northfield is charming and fun!
Charming suite and location!! We were very comfortable and felt right at home in this newly remodeled cottage. There is plenty of sitting room between the suite, the parlour (with fireplace), and the screened porch. We spent most of our free time reading in the porch and watching the birds flit around in the surrounding woods and the bird feeders. Breakfasts and the little cookies each night are fabulous. The hosts are very accommodating and flexible as we had to keep adjusting our schedule. This will definitely be our "home base" when we visit Northfield in the future.
